First episode of the new season of Madmen, Don invites a neighbor to visit his office to pick up a gift. He unlocks a closet and emerges with a new-in-the-box Leica M4. 1967; first year of production. :"Here's your camera.... You'll need a couple of weeks to get through the instructions." Interestingly, the gift is just a body, no lens.

Another viewer, a member of Rangefinder Forum, says he thinks the box was an M2, not an M4. This might make sense if the scene is from December of 1966. Perhaps the M4 wasn't officially released until sometime well into the new year.
