The title, borrowed from a Charlie Parker tune possibly presaging the civil rights movement (or not), fits this week, with the passage of marriage rights for everyone in New York.
Married for 28 years myself, I can't imagine any reason why others should be denied a chance at spending their lives with the one they love. Glad the state of New York's legislature finally agrees.
Now, of course, all those folks who had been denied marriage rights, will get to discover that marriage probably causes as many problems as it will solve for them, but at least they'll get to work on the solving part in the company of someone with whom they think they'd like to spend the rest of their lives. I'm good with that.
This image was shot about 30 years ago at a Gay Pride Parade down lower Fifth Avenue in NYC. We lived at the time on 12th Street, closer to Sixth Avenue.
