The Pledge

No political opinion is expressed or implied by this image. I saw the sign while riding my bicycle on day during which I had been mired in an online Facebook debate with some old chums about the merits of reciting the Pledge. I've nothing against, having recited it as a kid in school. On the other hand, I don't think people should be deported or treated otherwise unkindly if they opt not to recite those words. Good citizenship comes in many forms and comes from actions more than words. Reciting the pledge no more makes one a good citizen than does not reciting make one a poor citizen. In any case, I do like the sign. Seen in Basking Ridge, NJ.
